Attended off-cuff and was greeted by two lovely and well informed ladies. Although dogs are not permitted, one of the staff kindly took a bowl of water outside to my dog Isaac, on her own initiative and reassured him, as it was a hot afternoon (19/09) xx. This unassuming gallery was an absolute pleasure to walk around. Very special indeed. Was introduced to a new artists works in the gift shop, Malcolm Ryan, made a strong impression on me. Might need to break a piggybank or 2 to buy one of his works though. 😀

Great venue for cultural festival. Amazingly friendly people make it a joy!! Festival finale was world class, don't be fooled into thinking that Machynlleth Festival is a local event - this is a greatly undersold celebration across genres that would merit praise from the harshest critic. Visit if able, stay if you can.

I like voting on the art competition when we're here though I don't agree with judges choices always. I'm surprised it closes at 1pm on a Saturday in the summer so don't get caught out.

Miserable experience. Except for the paintings in the Tabernacle café there were very few others worth seeing. Cafe very disappointing indeed. A single cake option - lemon cake apparently, although very little taste of lemon and texture quite rubbery. Instant coffee too. No fruit teas. Seriously wish I hadn't made the effort to get here. A waste of an a very expensive train ticket. There are much, much better art galleries than this in Wales. Don't waste your time on this one.

I did not expect to find this lovely gallery today. I had some time between one bus and another and I'm so glad I stumbled across this. I was carrying a huge backpack and they were so kind to offer to keep it at the front desk so I could enjoy the exhibition more freely. Absolutely fantastic! Also, they had a puzzle of one of the artworks and I spent a great time doing it!

Great little museum/exhibition space/gallery. Some thought provoking, interesting and some lovely works exhibited when I visited, late Jul 2023. Staff extremely nice and happy to help with any questions you have. Entry is free, but please do consider making a donation when you visit.

Great events/shows but pew style seats uncomfortable beyond belief! Anything longer than 1/2 hour becomes crippling!!! Shame!

The museum (Y Tabernacl) is the nicest venue used by the Machynlleth Comedy Festival. We love going there.
